Gloibal e-commerce giant Alibaba has launched its "Global Ecommerce Talent" Programme in India . On the launch of programme K Gowrappan, Global Managing Director and Head of India for Alibaba group said "We are delighted to introduce this unique programme in India where, the e-commerce industry holds enormous potential for expansion,".
The programme will help and equip students, small businesses , professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, essential resources and competitive environment to prepare them for the e-commerce industry. The first batch of GET will be partnered by Centre of Ecommerce Excellence, Indian Institute of Ecommerce, First EduIndia Ltd. and Unified Growth Foundation.
The colleges where this programme will be available in the first phase are Narsee Monjee Institute Of Management Studies and Kalinga University.
Alibaba is operating in India since 2007. Right now it has 6 mn registered Indian buyers and sellers . Through AliExpress, its marketplace , Alibaba entered into a strategic tie-up with Paytm, an Indian mobile wallet company.
GET is not the first of its kind initiative by Alibaba, earlier it had launched a programme called Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC) which provided platform users with tailor- made services for their business.
