Google releases the last and final Developer Preview of their new system update Android v7.1 for the Nexus users. The previous Developer Preview was made available for the users of Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Pixel C  and the latest preview is provided for Nexus 9 as well. As the company says, this is the last chance to make sure that all the apps from different developers on your phones and other settings are compatible with the new system update.

The company added that the Developer Preview 2 comes with near-final system behaviors and UI, along with the optimizations and latest bug fixes across the system and apps. The currently available system builds are NPF26F - for the Nexus 6PNexus 5XNexus 9 - and NPF26H - for the Pixel C. The Android 7.1.1 will be available for ALL the supported devices and the Google Pixel and Pixel XL in December. The list also includes all the General Mobile 4G Android One smartphone and the Nexus Player.

How to get the Developer Preview 2

Android, earlier this year, had released their new program "Android Beta" for getting latest system updates "over-the-air". This program is similar to the cloud system which is available in Apple's devices and others. For getting v7.1.1 developer preview also, you will have to sign up in Android Beta if you haven't done that already, and receive the preview. There is an option where you can choose to download the factory image from the official website and flash it but this will involve flashing your device and losing your data.
