Remember back in the 90's how Nokia was the King of mobile phones? The first name which would come to your mind when you hear phone was Nokia. But then in 2014, after the Microsoft conquering of Nokia, the Finnish company wasn't anywhere to be found. They finished the last sale of their last phone, Lumia 920, during the month of April and that's the last time when we saw Nokia phones on sale.

Now, there is some news for the Nokia fans to rejoice about. Nokia is believed to make a come back to the Smartphone league in 2017. The return to the smartphone industry is one of the targets of Nokia to do in 2017 along with Expanding Virtual Reality Leadership, Transition of their Digital Health brand and Patent licensing expansion of mobile and consumer electronics. In the recent months, there had been spotting of new phones like Nokia D1C, Nokia 1490, Nokia 5320 etc and their possible specs in many online platforms which confirms that we will be seeing these phones under Nokia banner next year. Although it comes under Nokia, it won't be produced by Nokia. Back in the mid 2016, Nokia had given license to "HMD Global" to manufacture phones under the name of Nokia. So all the phones which are to come out for the next 10 years under Nokia, will be manufactured by HMD Global.

Back in October, Nokia had officially confirmed that the CEO of Nokia Mr. Rajeev Suri would address the Media in February 2017 at the Mobile World Congress(MWC) which is going to be held in Barcelona from 27th February to the 2nd of March. It is believed that all the speculations regarding their plans for 2017 will be answered in that meet.

The first phone which is rumored to be released by Nokia, the Nokia D1C, is being expected to feature a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 processor alongside 3GB of RAM, and sport 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.

We can just hope that Nokia makes a great come back and star the industry like they used to in their primes.
